DenizBank, the turkish subsidiary of Dexia, is launching a wide-ranging operation to support the development of the Turkish agricultural world in conjunction with the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The programme includes training courses, the distribution of books and study grants.
The project, which is also supported by Türk Traktör, Petrol Ofisi, Turkcell and VISA, involves organising a variety of activities. These include campaigns to provide financial support for local festivals, but also for social activities in general and assistance with training so as to enhance the value of the economic and social life of producers. No fewer than 100,000 books will be offered to 1,000 villages, training sessions will be organised for producers and study grants will be offered.
A press conference was held in Ankara on Wednesday, 13 May to present the details of the "Agricultural Mobilisation" project being undertaken between 14 May and 17 September 2009 to enhance the value of the economic and social life of producers, along with the "100,000 books for 1,000 villages" project which is organised in the same context.
The conference, which was honoured by the presence of Mr Mehdi Eker, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, was followed by Hakan Ateş, Chairman of DenizBank Financial Services Group, and Gökhan Ertürk, Executive Vice-Chairman of DenizBank.
