Act for education and citizenship 

Dexia aims to be a citizen group. It endeavours to adapt its actions by supporting projects in favour of education, access to culture or citizenship. Its actions are taken through local partnerships or through one of its foundations.

Denizbank makes students happy

Within the framework of “Long live our school” campaign organized by TOÇEV (literally “Tuvana Foundation for Children Willing to Study”), DenizBank provided financial support to the repair of the primary school located in Divanlı Village of Saraykent County in Yozgat. Within the framework of the campaign that enables children trying to have education in difficult and inconvenient conditions to have education with better conditions, the primary school in Divanlı Village was renovated and re-opened on 22 October 2007. The students now continue their education with the joy of having access to a contemporary education environment in their school, which currently has nearly a completely different form than before.

Ecole de Citoyennete

The Ecole de la Citoyenneté runs an action programme promoting citizenship among young people through local missions created by the Fondation Dexia under the aegis of the Fondation de France. Each year, a hundred young people from sensitive urban areas are invited to spend a week sharing their ideas, discussing the problems they encounter in their everyday lives, meeting politicians and gaining a better understanding of democracy in order to become active citizens in the areas in which they live.

Call for citizen projects

Each year since 2002 the Fondation Dexia France has launched a call for projects from 400 local missions throughout France in order to assist them to create or to invent, in association with young people, new forms of access to citizenship. In five years, more than 400 projects have been presented to the Fondation and 190 of them have been financed. The processes sponsored in this way have enabled more than 10,000 young people to discover and to come closer to citizenship institutions and practices.
